Welcome Back Party

Several weeks ago our Elf On The Shelf Isabella magically appeared with a "I Am Back Breakfast". Some families call this a North Pole Breakfast or a Welcome Back Party, I prefer my slogan better. 

Secretly I prepped my kitchen for this secret breakfast that our Elf was bringing. I secretly bought all the breakfast goodies, and the small cheap gifts. I made sure my kitchen was decorated in our Christmas decor. Then I waited patiently for my children to go to bed. 

I did not do anything over the top for this party. Some families make this party really big with pancakes and all the fixings, and tons of decorations. I wanted this breakfast to be simple and easy on me. 

To start the decorations I made sure I wrote "I Am Back" on the chalk board. I served foods I knew my children would eat. Oops..I mean our Elf Isabella served us food that she knew we would eat. We had Krispy Kreme donuts, white powder donuts, chocolate donuts, blueberry muffins, Little Debbie Santa brownies, and Little Debbie Christmas trees. Our Elf Isabella placed the food which was still in their containers on the places where she wanted each item to be. I guess that was a hint that she wanted the food to stay fresh until everyone got up and for me to take the food out of the containers and put them in their place when I got up. My children did not mind that at all and did not think anything about it. Our Elf did take the trees out of their bags so they would be standing.  I thought this was a good idea because we were able to put the left overs back into their containers and the children did not question it. I have to watch every thing I do because my daughter is questioning Santa. 

Milk was poured in the glasses when we were all at the table. I can not stand room temperature milk. The glasses were new and my kiddos had never seen them before. We all thought they were cool. I love those trees. 

Isabella the Elf brought so much stuff she had to have helpers. We had to examine the different looking elves. I had to think fast on my feet and say those elves are warehouse elves and that is why they are different. My daughter took that and ran with it. By the end of our breakfast we had named the elves, Jordan and Issiac. Our guests stayed with us for the day then they went home. Did you see the snow and snow flakes decorations? I am in love with them. 

Candy canes were brought as small gifts. The two in the middle are edible ornaments. 

These are my new milk jug glasses!! I think they helped make the party fantastic. 

I love how my small table turned out. 

My children had a wonderful time at our "I Am Back" breakfast. My daughter went to school the next day and told all of her friends that her Elf On The Shelf Isabella brought us all this free food for breakfast and told all her friends about the helpers. Our Elf on the Shelf Isabella

Our Elf on the Shelf Isabella came last week. She came just in time to celebrate Thanksgiving and to bring a special gift to my daughter. I guess our Elf is very smart because she knew my daughter was going on her first snow skiing trip over Thanksgiving.
Isabella entered our house this year by sitting on the side of our refrigerator. Our daughter had not been minding to good, so Isabella brought a naughty list.

Every morning our daughter gets up and runs to find Isabella and then  looks to make sure Isabella gave her a good check from the day before. As for the other name on the list, he is so small he could care less about the naughty list. But his name had to go on there to or big Sister would ask questions.  I tried to make the list look like an Elf made it that night. So the lines ran together in some places.

The second night that Isabella was at our house, she was caught playing in the children's Christmas tree. It would have been nice if Isabella would have brought a star for the top of that tree.

The third night was the night before my daughters big trip. Our Elf brought her much needed snow goggles. I loved the note that Isabella the Elf wrote to her. She really thinks those goggles came from the North Pole. 

The day we left on our trip I forgot to take a picture of where Isabella was hiding out. I made sure we brought her on our trip by placing her in the front zipper of my daughters suitcase. Since we were driving I placed her to where her head and arms were out of the suitcase. This way Isabella the Elf could hear and see if either one was acting up. It really worked on our road trip.

Once we got to our destination the next morning we found Isabella the Elf sitting on top of the fire extinguisher in the living room area of our condo. Leave it to me to forget to take a picture of that. 

On our second day there we woke up to find Isabella hanging out in the hallway next to our snow gear and ski's. I guess she wanted to go play in the snow with us. 

Our last day of our vacation we found that silly elf in a box of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes that I had packed in a plastic bin.

Last hiding places for Isabella for 2012

It just dawned on me, I forgot to show you all the last places Isabella the Elf was hiding, before she went home to the North Pole. Where was my mind? The last three weeks of the year kinda got crazy. Well Isabella done some crazy things the last week she was with us. She even went out of town with us again and we found her in my Mothers Christmas tree during her Christmas party. I wish I would had got a picture of that.

One night Isabella left a note for my little one. She had gotten a bowl of sugar out and had placed the peppermint oil in the sugar. The note said:
Since you was good at the dentist. Please place 3 drops of peppermint oil in the sugar before bed tonight.
Love,  Isabella
P.S. I told Santa he needed to bring you something special.

Here is my daughter and I placing the peppermint oil in the sugar. She took the letter to school that day.

The next morning peppermint candy canes had grew in the sugar. Isabella was in a new hiding place, underneath presents. A little tip if you decide to do this. Take the wrapping paper off the candy canes. My little one said Mommy there is plastic on these candy canes. Thank goodness she was to little to put two and two together.

The next morning Isabella must have been hungry because we found her on the stove drinking syrup.

Christmas Eve morning, we found Isabella on the sofa sitting on the Bible holding a key. She had highlighted in the Bible the story of the birth of Jesus. The key she was holding was a skeleton key. There was a poem that went with the key.

On the night before Christmas

On the door it will be

A special key

For you and I to see

No worries or fears

Santa's reindeer's will see

The magical glow

That was the last hiding place for Isabella. That night when the stockings were hung Isabella's box that she came in, was placed on the sofa table, for Santa to take her home.

More places Isabella the Elf on Shelf has been

This past week has been an adventure with our elf. My daughter went out of town to spend several nights with my parents and to be in a 2 night showing of Jesus The One And Only which is a Christmas play. While on this trip my little cousin who would be my daughters 2nd cousin, touched Isabella on the hat. She was not aware of the Elf on the Shelf and the rules. My daughter informed her really fast that if you touch the elf, she will loose her magic. Quickly thinking my daughter looked at her best friend and said you must apologize to Isabella and tell her what you want for Christmas, so she does not loose her magic. Thanks goodness problem diverted. So where has Isabella been at this past week?

My daughter places her baby dolls in this basket and carries them around. Isabella wanted her to carry her around too!

Isabella ready to go on a road trip. I made sure my daughters bag was packed the night before, so Isabella could snuggle up in the suitcase. We found Isabella in this same spot the morning my daughter had to come back home.

While at Grandma's, Isabella hung out on the mantel. Isn't that a gorgeous mantel? I will have to show you all my Mom's decorations, they are awesome.

The morning we got home from our trip, we found Isabella in the tower of my daughters play house.

 With just a week left I have some great hiding places for Isabella the elf to hide. I can't wait.

Where has Isabella the Elf been lately?

Do to the Holiday's, I have postponed Recipe Monday until the New Year. Today I wanted to post about our Elf on the Shelf, named Isabella. Our Elf has not been mischievous yet. I am still letting my four year old get use to her. Isabelle has been in many places here lately. I am still amazed at how my daughter gets up every morning on the hunt for Isabella. It is so cute to watch my daughter go up to her and tell her what she wants for Christmas. I have even heard her tell Isabella to tell Santa that some of her friends need to go on the naughty list. I will not mention names, but my name has been said many times. So here is the top pictures of where Isabella has been lately.

My daughter places many of her baby dolls in this basket and she carries them around. Isabella wanted to be carried too!

My daughter had her Thomas the Train toys in the Kitchen one night, so Isabella started playing with them.

Isabella hanging by the Barbie pool. If my daughter wants water in her Barbie pool, she must play on the tile in the bathroom.

This was the biggest hit. Isabella building marshmallow men with Frosty the Snow Man.

When my daughter saw this, she just had to make some marshmallow men too.

Where is Isabella the Elf?

Isabella the Elf has been at our house for several weeks now. Buying the Elf on the Shelf was the best decision ever made. My daughter is excited every morning to get up and go look for Isabella. We did not want to scare our daughter, so for the first several weeks, we started off with simple placement of the Elf.
One mistake I have already made is that I forgot to move her one night. Usually my husband will pick up my slack, but both of us forgot that night. Our daughter woke up and found her in the same place. I had to think of something real fast, so I said to our daughter: I thought you walked by her last night and accidentally brushed her with your arm. My daughter was devastated. So I told her to go tell Isabella what she wanted for Christmas and that she was sorry that she accidentally touching her. When my daughter was eating breakfast and not looking I rushed to move the Elf.

  We have noticed that Isabella has a thing for our living room and all the Christmas decorations.

Isabella must miss Santa. We find her by the many Santa's a lot.

She sometimes hangs out in the kitchen above the sink.

Isabella wanted to wrap up in a towel too.

 Here lately Isabella has been sorta silly.

Above the stove, she is watching to make sure our daughter cleaned her plate at supper.

She found a toy.

This was where Isabella sat the first day.

 I will post more as the of the spots Isabella appears in the weeks leading up to Christmas. This is so much fun.
