Dinosaur Party

Little boys and their dinosaurs. When my little man turned 3 years old, I threw him a little get together and the theme was dinosaurs. This was one of the funniest parties I have designed. I loved every little detail about it. The children seemed to love it and the parents seemed to enjoy it also. This party was very simple. I loved how it turned out.

I made swamp slime, which was made out of lime jello. I found these really cool wooden spoons and I tied them to the jars.

Sprinkled Caramel Apples was a hit at the desert table. The sugar cookies was just dinosaur foot steps. You can't forget the no bakes.
The cute dinosaur food labels was printed from supermommy.com. The labels are free to print and they are so adorable.

The cake was a simple vanilla and chocolate cake. I love the dinosaurs on it. You can't have a dinosaur party without prehistoric dirt. I placed Oreo Dirt Cake in the jars. The parents loved them. I even offered a healthy alternative to all the sweets. I offered apples and oranges.

Here is what the full sweet table looked like.  I had placed the sweet table inside my kitchen, along with the food table. The main party was actually outside.

We had dinosaur eggs.

A 'Let's Rawr" sign

Each chair had a tail tied to each. Every child received a tail with a dinosaur hat and was able to take them home.

There was a dinosaur trail leading the children to the party table.

There was an excavation dig. Where each child was able to search for dinosaur skeletons.

The children had a blast at the party. Some children played in the sand, while the other children played on our swing set. My son still talks about his dinosaur party, and I think he wants another dinosaur party at his next birthday.

If you live in the Louisville, KY area I would love to design a party for your little one or for your next party.

Thinking of going to St. Petes Beach?

It has taken me weeks to write about my last family get away. Our getaway was nothing fancy, just a quick flight down to St. Petersburg, FL to bury our feet in the sand. This trip was a special trip because it was little man's first trip to the beach. It has just been very hard to write a review. There is not much to say about St. Petes beach. It is just a quaint cozy beach town, that is known for its amazing sunsets. I did not see many chain restaurants, besides some fast food restaurants, which was good and I did not see much things to do with kids, like go carts, or boardwalk things. So when the sun went down there was not much to do with our little ones. One night we walked down the street to play mini golf at a small putt put course. The other nights we let them swim in the hotel pool until we felt like it was getting to cold for them to swim and then we finished the night out by watching movies in our room.

We stayed at the Sirata Beach Resort and let me just say this resort is beautiful. We had a street view which was fine because I could still see the water and palm trees.
They have three swimming pools placed through out the property and the pool we used everyday was not crowded. It was the one closest to Rum Runners. At some parts of the day it was just us, but it could have been the time of the year we went. We enjoyed the live music at night with the fire pit and the hot tub. It was so hard to get my toddler off of the the beach playground, he played and played.
One thing I had never saw before was that the beach towels were supposedly micro chipped. You check out a towel by swiping your room key in a machine. When you were done using that towel you returned it back to the machine. I did not want to test to see if they were really microchip. I was not wanting an extra fee, so I will take them at their word on that.
The beach, the hotel swimming pool and the putt put course up the street, was kinda like the only thing to do that was in walking distance from our hotel. Up and down the beach they had jet ski rentals and the aqua- cycle rentals. I wanted to rent an aqua- cycle so bad but as I watched others flipping their aqua cycles and being unable to get it over the wave breaks, I decided it looked better from afar.
There was other things to do like go on dolphin tours, drive to Tampa to Busch Gardens, but all along it is just a quaint cozy beach town known for its sunsets. I would recommend this beach to anyone looking for a nice place to enjoy the beach. Especially couples who want to enjoy every sunset.

The Surprise I got for Christmas was from VICKS.

I received a box, a week before Christmas, thinking it was Christmas gifts for the kids. I placed the box in my hiding place, and waited until no one was home before I opened it. When the house was empty, I opened the box. As I was opening it, I was thinking it was the cute pj's I ordered to be from our Elf's. Well I got the biggest surprise when I opened the box. I wished I had someone recording me, because I was surprised. Influester sent me a Vicks Easy Fill Cool Mist Humidifier. I stood there in shock, looking at the opened box. I have never received something this big and expensive to review before. I was on cloud 9. This humidifier could not have came at a better time. Because I was needing to go buy a filter for my Cool Mist Humidifier in my bedroom and with everything going on, I just did not have the time to go to CVS just for a filter.
I love my Vicks EasyFill Cool Mist Humidifier. It is so much nicer than my other store brand. I love that it has two ways to fill the tank. I also like how you can add the Vicks VapePads with it. I thought you could only add the VapePads to a warm mist humidifier. Brownie points to Vicks for not having a filter. Having no filter is the best way to go with a Cool Mist Humidifier. The last thing I love about this humidifier, is that if it is left on it has an Auto Shut Off when the tanks get empty. Sometimes humidifiers at our house get left on or water is forgotten.
I totally recommend the Vicks Easy Fill Cool Mist Humidifier. What type of brand humidifiers do you own in your house?

My Newest Christmas Ornaments

As I put my Christmas decor away, I get one more chance to reminisce about our ventures that we took in the year 2016. Throughout the year as we travel to new destinations, milestones are reached, or we try something new, I try to buy an ornament to place on the tree.  I look forward every year to  putting up my Christmas tree. I take my time and enjoy looking over our memories. Even our visitors enjoy looking over our tree, it is a great conversational piece. This year was a busy year for us. I can not believe all the new ornaments that was bought.
This ornament was not bought by me. It was given as a gift to my daughter, but it has made a place on our tree. My daughter tried out for the Brown Forman Nutcracker and she made the part of angel. This was her first time ever dancing in this production. It consumed most of our Sundays, from October on, and most of our weekends during the holiday season. It was an amazing opportunity for her and we will do it again in a heartbeat. This ornament reflects a cute picture of her in costume and the other side says Nutcracker Angel 2016. This was the best gift and most thoughtful gift anyone could give someone. I will cherish my daughters gift for years to come.

The next one is of a Nutcracker. I was unable to find an angel to represent my daughters roll, but I wrote the word angel on the bottom and the year.

This year my kids got to ride on an airplane for the first time ever. We flew on Southwest to New York City. Little man enjoyed the ride so much, that when we landed he was screaming "We Go Again".  I was able to find two airplanes at Hobby Lobby and I wrote each of my children's names on the bottom and the date.

While we were in New York City, we got to go see the Statue of Liberty. My daughter found this ornament for sale on the boat as we were leaving Lady Liberty. My husband and my daughter bought it and surprised me with it. I love it.

To represent the rest of our visit, I found this cute New York City ornament online. It has things on both sides and it shows every place we went.

I was also able to find a taxi cab, to represent my little ones first Taxi, Uber, and Lyft rides. We sure made some memories that will not be forgotten on that NYC trip with different modes of transportation.

If you follow me on any of my social media links you would know that my family loves going to theme parks. We are Cedar Fair Platinum holders and our passes are well used. This year my daughter was old enough to stamp a glass ornament from Glass Works at Cedar Point. She was able to learn the art of glass making. The picture does not give this ornament justice. It says the name of the new roller coaster, Valraven, with the words Cedar Point. It sparkles on the tree.

My last ornament was a spur of the moment holiday trip over Thanksgiving to St Pete Beach, FL.  This was my sons first trip to the beach and we had a blast. This ornament has sand and sea shells in it. It was our first ever beach trip that we flew in, and only had our carry on luggage. I am use to packing the car full and driving 10 plus hours. We will so be flying to the beach again, no more driving.

That is all of the ornaments I bought for the 2016 year. Do you do a Memory Tree? If you don't, I highly suggest it. You can always back date on the tree if you need to. There is still some ornaments that I need to buy. Like a ornament to represent my honeymoon and my daughters first trip to the beach. When I find the right ornament for these memories, I will snag them up. If you want to see more ornaments from my memory tree click on the links below.
