2. Repin at least 2 other pins because that's why we are here!
3. Link back to us if you would, it's the nice thing to do!
4. Come back next week and repeat!
5. Spread the word, the more the merrier!

Please say hello to Jessica at SparklesandGlue.com and stop by her party!

Welcome! I am Jessica and many of my friends call me Sparkles. I am a budget wise DIY-loving gal. I enjoy painting, crafts, being outside (when it’s warm), running, hiking, wine, and hanging out with friends and family. I work as an ICU nurse and use my projects as a way to de-stress. In addition, to getting my crafty on as much as possible I also love to cook. Luckily, I am married to an amazing man ( I call Prince Charming) who is always willing to try anything I create in the kitchen (no questions asked!). I’m always looking for a delicious meal with a healthy twist.
Some fun stuff happening at Jessica's blog, here are some great posts to check out:

Grilled Pizza

Did you know you could cook a pizza on the grill? I thought you had to have one of those fancy fire ovens in your kitchen or outside of your home for a grilled pizza. I was wrong. You can actually use a charcoal or gas grill. You don't even need a pizza stone. Since my family loves pizza and grilling on the grill, we decided to combine the both.

Gilling pizza takes no time. I think the prep work takes the longest of all.

You will need the following basics:
Gas Grill or Charcoal Grill
Cheese - I used pizza cheese
Sauce - you can make you own. I used a organic pizza sauce in a can. I forgot the name.
Pizza dough - I used Pillsbury Pizza dough
Corn Meal
Oilive Oil

Toppings - anything you desire
We used
Onion
Green Pepper
Pepperoni
Pineapple bacon hot dog wiener (lol... yes I know how odd. I was not sure how the pizzas was going to turn out so I cooked some hotdogs just in case)

To start off, pre heat your grill on low heat. While the grill is preheating cook your toppings to the perfection you would like.  Please note the toppings will not be on the pizza long enough to be cooked. I learned this the hard way on the first round of pizzas. While your toppings are cooking, roll out your pizza dough. Don't make your dough to thin. I cut my dough in half. I wanted to make smaller pizzas. I did my unrolling on foil. The top part of the dough brush with olive oil and sprinkle lightly with cornmeal.  Leave the dough on the foil.

Before placing the dough on the grill, rub your grill grates with olive oil. This will prevent your dough from sticking.  To place the dough on the grill, take the dough on the foil and flip where the foil is on top leaving the dough on the grill grates.

While the dough is on the grill grates brush the top side with olive oil. When the dough gets all bubbly it is time to flip. Grab a pair of tongs and flip. Once flipped, quickly place sauce, cheese and topping on the pizza. Let the pizza cook until done.
Watch out, I burnt my first pizza, but it still tasted good.
This was my second one and it turned out really good.

Do you cook pizzas on the grill? If you do, how do you cook them? I would love to know how your experience goes.

Were you picked as my favorite link for the week of July 12th?

Wow this week has flown by so fast. Where has summer break for our little ones gone? It dawned on me this week that my daughter starts back to school in several weeks and I have not bought any back to school stuff. So this week we buckled down and ordered her backpack and lunch box. We also went to her favorite store Justice and bought her a few outfits. But there is still so much more to buy. How much school stuff do you have to buy? Enough about my week. I know you are here to see who I chose as my favorite from last weeks Snickerdoodle Sunday. These weeks decision was a hard one, like all weeks.
My pick for the week is by Chloe Crabtree with her Fourth of July Fire Cracker Cupcakes. I know the fourth of July has passed but you could make these cupcakes for any type of party.

Swing by Chole's post and congratulate her. Chloe, don't forget to grab your I have been featured pin and display it proudly.

Reminiscing about Independence Day

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July last weekend. My family and I spent some much needed family time with Grandpa and Grandma. Its hard living several hours away from your parents. We were blessed to get to spend one whole week with them. I cherished every minute there. While we were there we hosted a cookout. It was so nice getting to see family I don't get to see very often.   I think the cookout went very well. We served hot dogs and chili, grilled hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad, cabbage casserole and as a surprise to me my Grandma made homemade from scratch chicken and dumplings. We also had various scrumptious desserts to choose from.  I loved our simple decorations and food layout.

Here you can see we used a simple red, white and blue deco mesh that was wrapped around glasses to place the plastic ware and straws in. I loved the curvy straws. I picked up the last 2 packs of those at the Dollar Tree.

Even the plates was themed red, white and blue. Grabbed these at the Dollar Tree also.

We bought two of these hats and placed them together. Another Dollar Tree find.

We used the extra deco mesh to make bows around the deck to help make things festive.

I found this table topper at the Dollar Tree. I thought it was cute. It added to the spirit of the day.

Here is my daughter being all festive wearing her 4th of July headband, that I also got at the Dollar Tree. I am starting to think I buy lots of stuff at the Dollar Tree.

This was the one of the fruit trays I made for the party. I used one whole watermelon, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries. This was a big hit with the adults and the kids.

I tried to make a flag that I saw on Pinterest with the cupcakes. It was harder than what I thought. The strawberries had to be cut into thin slivers to be placed on top. I am wondering if I would have used a stiffer icing if the strawberries and blueberries would have stayed in place more. This dish was another big hit with the kids.

Due to the temperture outside and the way the sun was shining at the time of eating, we decided to serve the food inside and then let guest go outside to eat. This way it cut down on flies and everything getting to hot. The above picture was what the dessert table looked like.

After we finished our meal, we talked for awhile then we broke out the volley ball and played until it was time to see fireworks. What did you and your family do to celebrate Independence Day?

I have added this link to the following sites:

Pepper Jack Jalapeño Hamburgers

One of my good friends told me about this recipe that is totally delicious. Every time this is cooked at their house there is rave reviews and no left overs. I will have to agree with them on this. The night I cooked it, there was no left overs. I never thought about placing all these ingredient's together at the time of marinating.

Items needed:

Hamburger Meat
Greek Seasoning
Pepper Jack Cheese Shredded
Jalapenos
Worcestershire Sauce
Salt and Pepper

Take all ingredients and mix them all up in a bowl. I did not give measurements because it varies per pound of meat that you have. Just add as much seasoning, Jalapenos and pepper jack as you like. On the Worcestershire sauce just add enough to moisten the meat. Once you mix everything up, let the mixture marinate for over 6 hours.

When the meat is done marinating, pat out each hamburger to your desired thickness. I tried to get at least one jalapeno on each burger. I think I put to much Worcestershire Sauce on my burgers.

Grill each burger to your desired texture. I like my hamburgers well done.

Below is the final result. The burgers were full of flavor. We placed our burgers on flat bread and added Wickles (pickles), mustard and ketchup to complete our meal.

I hope you enjoy these burgers just as much as my family did. Check out these other great recipes for the grill.

Grilled Salmon
Coconut Grilled Chicken Kabobs
Soda Can Chicken

Check back each week for more delicious grilling recipes and grilling tips. As always I love to hear how your try at this recipe turned out. Did you add something else or leave something out?

Do you have a favorite grilling recipe that you would like to share? Send me a message and I will set you up a date to be a Guest Blogger.
