Everything Baby

As parents we want whats best for our little ones. From the the moment they are born you have many decisions to make. Are you going to use cloth diapers or buy diapers? Are you going to breastfeed or formula feed? Then when its time to introduce solids are you going to make homemade baby food or buy manufactured baby food? Starting tomorrow I will try to help educate you on a series titled "Everything Baby".
I am proud to say we will be having Margot Potter who is a designer, author, TV host and freelance writer, guest blogging on April 14. She will be discussing the benefits of using cloth diapers, why they are better for your little one and the value on the pocket book.
There is still time to sign up to be a guest on the Nifty Thrifty Family. I can place you at the end of the series. Email me if you are interested. You are free to write about anything that relates to babies. If you don't want to guest blog. I would love for you to come visit and leave your wonderful comments about the topic that is being discussed that day.

Monster High Skating Birthday Party

Way before I had children I always said I would never host a roller skating birthday party. I just hate how all the kids are herded into a party room for a rush rush hurry hurry blow your candles out type of celebration, all while everyone is falling down due to their skates. Well I have to retract everything I have always said about skating parties in the past. Because when your child wants a birthday skating party, you grit your teeth bare it and host a Monster High Roller Skating Birthday Party.
The venue provided the invitations. I had to use them they were our guests tickets to bypass the long entrance line. I was not thrilled with post card invites. I had to do something to spruce them up.  So I got the idea to place Monster High stickers inside the balloons on the invitations.  Voila Monster High Theme Roller Skating Invitations.

The party room was more of an adventure to decorate.  The decorations was the Monster High themed items I brought along blended with skating theme paper cups, plates, napkins and place mates the venue supplied.

Some of the tables had table clothes the other ones were bare.

On each of the tables I had Monster High Skating themed pictures.

The center piece pictures I found online.I just typed in to Google search Monster High Roller Maze. These pictures came from the game Monster High Skultimate Roller Maze.

I think the walls really added character to the party theme. I got the Monster High balloons at Party City. My daughter loved the balloons.

You can't have a birthday party without a Happy Birthday Sign.

Here is another view of what one of the tables and the gift table looked like.

If you are having a Monster High theme party you must have a Monster High Coffin cake. I wished I could take credit for this cake, but I have to give the baking credit to Heitzman Bakery in Louisville, KY. With a infant in the house there was no way I had time to bake a cake. I was just thankful for a Groupon. The cake tasted awesome. It turned out amazing.

Overall my daughter had a wonderful birthday party. I wished I was able to decorate more but it was what it was. If one of my children asked to have a skating party again I would diffently do it again. Everybody had so much fun even the adults.

Have you had any adventures throwing a skating party? I would love to hear them. Or have you thrown a Monster High party? I want to see pictures and hear how you decorate.

The Pink Box

At my front door on Valentines day the mail man delivered a pink box that was filled with so many goodies. I bet your are thinking my husband ordered me something from Victoraria Secret? Well if you thought that, you are wrong. I received the J'adore Vox Box from Influenster. This box was way better than any under clothing...lol.  It was filled with teas, chocolates, beauty products and even lotion for my husband.
As I opened the box my daughter was standing by me. Her eyes became so big when she saw the family size bag of Hershey Kisses. She grabbed them and went running. Kisses are her favorite candy. Who does not like a little kiss?
The next item in the box was the Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes. I tried these out over the weekend. I have never wore fake eyelashes before. For someone who had never put on fake lashes it took me  several tries to get the first lash on. But the second one went on within seconds. If you never have worn fake eyelashes theres not much you have to do. Once the lashes were on me, I did not feel them at all. My eyelashes looked so full and natural. Even my husband told me they looked really nice and looked very natural. I loved them. I would diffently think about using them again for special occasions or for a photo session.
Another beauty item I received was a bottle of "The Frizz Ease 3 day Straight Flat Iron Spray". This is an awesome product. This products makes my daughters hair stay straight for several days. It is so simple and easy to use. Just spray it in and use your flat iron to straighten.
The next item was samples of tea.  If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed my pics of my daughter and I going for tea all dressed up. So I was very excited to see samples of " Simply Indulgent Red Rose Teas". Their motto is "All The Indulgence None of The Calories". The taste of the black teas were very tasteful. I got to sample the Creme Caramel and Lemon Chiffon. I also received a $2.00 coupon and in every sample there was a $1.00 off coupon.
Also in this pink box was a gift for my husband, it was Vaseline Men Spray Lotion. I had bought my husband the regular lotion of this and he really liked it. So I was excited about him trying the spray and telling me his thoughts about it. Since my husband works out in the elements the lotion works really great on his dry skin. I will have to admit that when my skin gets very dry, I grab for his lotion and use it. Shhh.... don't tell anyone that I revealed one of my deep dark secrets that I sometimes use a mans lotion. I only wished the fragrance was different so I could wear it all the time.
I can't forget to tell you about the Clay Mask from Botanics that was in the box. This mask is suppose to actively remove impurities and deeply cleanses with clarifying willow bark. It was easy to put on and easy to remove. My skin felt fresh, soft and smooth after using it.
I must say I am truly blessed to receive the Jador Vox Box. Thank you Influenster for all of the above items. I loved every item I received. If you would like to become  a Influenster and receive boxes of goodies let me know and I will send you a request.
